We begin the Summit by grounding in where we stand today as a movement. This opening session invites us to celebrate the key milestones and collective victories, both local and global, that have brought us here, while also reflecting on the challenges we continue to face given the current geopolitical context. With insights from a special guest speaker, we’ll explore what this moment demands from us and how we can move forward in solidarity to advance the case for a Treaty.

This interactive, fireside conversation features an expert involved in the International Court of Justice to share about what the advisory opinion means for the case for a Treaty and how it could influence our narrative and strategy. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue and reflect together on the potential implications for the Treaty’s pathway.

This moderated session offers a unique opportunity for a reflective and forward-thinking conversation in a interactive panel format. Featuring the Fossil Fuel Treaty's Executive Director, Alex Rafalowicz, and other seasoned panelists from various treaty processes and campaigns, the discussion will be an intersection of the proposed pathway to the conference and the incorporation of best practices and lessons learned from other treaty negotiations and campaigns. The session will also offer space to participants to reflect on and share their insights.

This curated open space inspired forum will feature simultaneous, partner-led sessions that explore how different areas of work contribute to, strengthen and connect with the Fossil Fuel Treaty process. Each session will provide space for reflection, learning, and connection through a birds-eye view on how specific sectors can play a complementary and crucial systemic role in advancing the Treaty. This will be followed by an opportunty to share key-takeways from each discussion and how these areas may amplify the collective efforts.

This session will provide a space for cross-regional exchange about lessons and challenges around ongoing regional campaigns and diplomatic engagement efforts in advancing the Treaty. Combining storytelling with participatory methodologies, it will foster mutual support and strategic insight across regions.

This final session will provide an opportunity to share key takeways and synthesize the Summit's highlights and collective learnings. The focus will be on translating the collective insights into actions, with participants identifying their role in propelling the agenda forward.
